Gwaloop - The Event

The Gisborne district is renowned all over the world as the
first place to receive the light. 
We invite you to come and experience the beauty of our region
and participate in `Gwaloop' ... New  Zealand's
Longest `One Day' Cycle Challenge from Gisborne to Wairoa
via Nuhaka & returning to Gisborne via Tiniroto... a distance of 204km.

Primes

 $100 Primes will be awarded to the first man and woman to achieve the
following: (Individuals only).

     1st.  Top of the Whareratas at the Lookout.
     2nd.  First into Wairoa.
     3rd.  Top of Harris Hill on Wairoa to Gisborne stage.

Prize Giving  -  Cosmopolitan Club, Grey Street Gisborne

Time: 6 - 10pm with the prize giving at 7:00pm. ...followed by Live Music (BAND)
Bistro Meals available, fully licenced.

Registration

Registration will be held from:
4 pm to 7 pm Friday the 20 January 2012 at AVANTI Plus
Cnr. Gladstone & Roebuck Roads Gisborne.

Safety

Participants must wear an approved safety New Zealand
helmet while riding the event. Have your bike and helmet checked.

Support Crews & Transport

Event support will include the St John plus Traffic Management NZ.
There will be a Sag Wagon provided for the duration of the event.

Teams

Teams will need to get their team riders to each of the
team transition locations and to be self sufficient.
There will be an Aid Station located at each of the 4 transition areas
namely Nuhaka (corner of Mahia turn off), Wairoa (outside Farmlands and
Tiniroto Tavern (outside the Hotel).

The Start / Finish Line

The Gwaloop Cycle Challenge will start outside the Showgrounds Park & Event Centre 20 Main Road, Makaraka at
7am Saturday 21st January 2012 The Finish will be outside Campion College.

Transfers, Refunds & Late Fees

Transfers of Entries up until 7th January 2012. 50% Refunds until 7th January 2012.
In the event of cancellation (Acts of GOD) a 50% refund will also apply.
